The most common question I get asked as a fitness professional targeting weight loss for clients is about nutrition.
The main question I hear is what should I be eating?
To answer this question I need to know what your daily nutrition looks like currently? What is your weight loss goal (target weight)? How many days you are exercising? What type of exercise and intensity are you currently doing?
The most important tool to utilize in weight loss is Logging your food into an app that counts your daily calorie consumption. I have a nutrition app connected to my Freedom Fitness app where members can track everything they eat in the Nutrition app
This amazing tool gives gives you suggested macros! You input your weight, height, age, and level of activity. It calculates your daily calorie deficit to meet a realistic weight loss goal within a specific timeline. It tells you how many carb.’s, proteins, and fats you need to be meeting daily to reach your target weight.
It is proven that it’s 80% about nutrition and 20% exercise when it comes to losing weight! To effectively meet a significant weight loss goal, remember practicing patience is key. Take it one day at a time. Small steps in the right direction will give you positive results in the end.
Here are 4 small steps you can start today:
Step #1: Log your food!
Use an app to track your daily caloric intake!
Step #2: Eat protein in the morning!
It is important to eat protein and fats in the morning. Protein has a higher (TEF) “thermic effect of food” than carbs or fat, which means you are burning more calories to process protein.
Having protein first thing in the morning fuels fat burning combined with eating
healthy fats; avocado, coconut oil, egg yolks. These fats will sustain your satiation throughout the day and train your body to start burning fat in the beginning of your day.
Step #3: Track your calorie burn during the day!
Step #4: Resistance Train!
Anytime you are trying to lose weight or change your body composition, incorporating a resistance training program 2-3 days a week will give you better results!
Learning to resistance train properly and
with good form will increase your confidence, tone the areas where you are starting to lose weight, and keeps you feeling good as it increases serotonin levels. I guarantee the benefits of resistance training with proper nutrition are 2 primary ways to be successful in meeting
your weight loss goals!
But really! No really!
It is all about calorie in and calorie out to answer this question!!
I wish you all the best success! Feel free to reach out to me here with any questions and let me know which topics would be most useful to you in your fitness and nutrition journey!
